About A Friend in Need, Inc.

A Friend in Need, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to do our part to secure the future of humanity both locally and globally, by helping to provide 5 basic human rights: food, shelter, clean water, health care, and education to individuals and communities who are in need of them, through community fund raisers, research, and advocacy.

Here are just a few of the things we've done to help families living in poverty:

• Provided a clean-water well to a community that lacked access to clean drinking water.  Now, choosing between giving  an infant unhealthy water and nursing with HIV infected milk is no longer a choice a mother needs to make.

• Supplied tools, vegetables, seeds, a Tilapia pond, a barnyard full of animals, fruit trees and training to help families produce the most bountiful harvest possible, all helping to provide nutrition so they can be strong in their fight against AIDS.

• Built a play room in the Blue Roof Clinic in Durban, South Africa as a safe place for children to play while their parents receive life-sustaining treatment for HIV/AIDS.

• Annually sponsors the "Friends for the Future" Scholarship, which recognizes a local high school student who plans on using their post high school education to better the lives of others.

• Provided tuition assistance to a special needs student.

• Supplied backpacks filled with school supplies to students who otherwise have none.
  

• Provided holistic care and food distribution packets for orphans.
