We're going back to Swaziland!
Thanks to your support, we raised enough money to start construction on a much needed multi-purpose building in Swaziland, Africa. Its been two years since we first went to Swaziland and saw a community of young orphan children live fearful lives - not knowing when their next meal will come or if they'd have shelter. Our hearts broke while our minds raced thinking about the dangers that could befall them without a mommy & a daddy to protect them during the dark nights. Our building will be a safe-haven for so many young children desperately trying to survive on their own in this forgotten country.
We'll travel to Swaziland February 26, 2011
PRAY FOR US! We need your prayers as Brenda Rebro and Heather Bliss make the long journey to Swaziland. Swaziland is not an easy country to get to. PRAY for health, safety, encouragement and accomplishment as this team first travels 18 hours to Johannesburg, then flies to Nelspruit, South Africa and then drives 4 hours thru mountainous, unpaved terrain to Swaziland.
PRAY that they stay healthy and energized throughout this journey, and that God will give them the wisdom and opportunity they need to do HIS work. Also, PRAY for the families that will stay at home. These women are mothers. PRAY that each husband and child will be blessed through the journey these women are taking.

Volunteers make it all happen - from organizing fundraisers to gathering school supplies and stuffing backpacks - we can't do it without volunteers. Volunteers made our summer fundraiser happen! A Photographer donated her time and talents. A graphic designer made the logo and invites for free. Businesses donated raffle items. Volunteers picked up those raffle items. The food, beverage and location were all donated. Volunteers set up the tables and displays. Volunteers sold raffle tickets, collected donations, and helped with clean up. It doesn’t matter how much or how little or how big or how small. We can always use your talent, time & ideas. How will you make a difference? Contact us & volunteer today! |
Backpack UpdateOnce again, we delivered backpacks filled with school supplies to kids in need. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to purchase enough notebooks, pencils, paper, erasers, glue, binders, pencil cases, crayons, markers, folders, rulers and scissors to fill 60 backpacks. The backpacks were delivered to 2 schools in Wisconsin. These schools have a majority of students at or below the poverty level. When a teacher sees a student without the necessary supplies, they can pass along a backpack from A Friend in Need, Inc. Having the right supplies encourages students to stay in school and succeed! DonationsTwo years ago, we had no idea why God brought us to Africa. We just knew that we were called to go there and we trusted that He would show us where He wanted us to do His work. He showed us Swaziland. A forgotten country with countless orphan children that need our help. We had no idea that just two years later we would return to start construction on a much needed building that will save so many lives.
